Found wild down the entire Australian east coast, Acmena smithii can appear as a fair-sized tree to a low-ish shrub. ‘Sublime' is one of the more robust forms. A dense cover of dark green, fig-like and psyllid-resistant foliage right down to the ground lends itself to screening. Lime green new growth – instead of the copper-reds of so many other lilly pillies – offers a modest backdrop to more colourful foreground plantings.

Get chooks! Have fruit trees in the chicken yard. Chickens deal with pests, dropped fruit, providing eggs and manure. They even eat the weeds too!

Palmetto

Palmetto Soft Leaf Buffalo is ideally suited as a lawn in many applications.
