Yesterday's hairpin banksia varies in size and flowers across its range down the east coast of Australia, with several sub-species and forms in the wild. ‘Coastal Cushion' is one of the baby banksias that grow as a low compact mound like a ready-made bonsai. Though originally found on the NSW South Coast, it's being found to be a more reliable dwarf banksia pushing north into QLD.
